The “Attention” series is built specifically to entice and lure the spectator into the paintings through the use of urban communication codes designed to request the viewer’s attention: urban signage, reflectiveness, loud colours, etc.
The common denominator being the central shape, it welds the works together creating the entity of the series. Concurrently, the variating methods used to catch one’s eye spark the connection to the viewer through a visual language they are quite familiar to in a cityscape.
I invite the viewer to reflect on the power of colours soliciting us while we are out in the streets.
Furthermore, the series expresses my own rapport to my environment and the elements that ignite in my iris, seep in my artistic universe and expressed identity, e.g urban wear and phosphorescence for one.
